Thanks, Altoon. The motivation here was to make studies developing ideas for bigger paintings, but I am definitely interested in the miniature aspect, as well as in these things as objects in themselves.
I did a 1" = 1' miniature version in advance of my entire last solo show (at Pierogi, back in May). You can see the miniature and the real space juxtaposed here: http://theneutral.blogspot.com/2010/06/equated.html
In that case the small paintings were just small models of existing paintings, rather than being new ideas, as these two are.

I love these. Maybe it's the thought of their small size, but I also love the way the images are separated, disjointed but whole.
